Avenger Endgame Dominates With Whopping $169M Oversees First Day

Disney/Marvel

Well oversees, Avengers Endgame has only been out for literally a day and no surprise it's already setting some insanely massive numbers. The film earned a whopping total of $169M during it's first day (Being released yesterday in several territories including China) on Wednesday which is already an insane number for a movie being released only on it's first day. It's officially Avengers madness season as tickets all over the world are selling out and the demand is at an all time high.

The film, no surprise could rack in anywhere between $300M-$315M during it's first 5 days in China after an opening day Wednesday of $107M (Including previews). Additional markets where Endgame was released on Wednesday according to BoxOfficeMojo include Hong Kong ($2.7M), Taiwan ($2.6M), Thailand ($2.4M), Malaysia ($2.0M), Germany ($5.6M), Indonesia ($2.5M), Australia ($7.0M), Italy ($5.8M), Philippines ($3.9M), France ($6.0M) and South Korea ($8.4M). There's other territories as to where the film was released but we haven't been able to find any of those numbers yet. The film is pretty much getting released almost everywhere this week as it hits theaters in the states tomorrow (Although previews start tonight) with Japan and Mexico also having the same day release as the 26th. Let's now discuss the potential as to how huge this could actually open this weekend and what we think of some of the estimates.

So it seems that as expected, Endgame is already starting to break huge numbers and with $169M, the sky is honestly the limit at this point. We could be seeing the potential of a $900M opening weekend worldwide debut which would surpass Infinity War's record of $640.5M back in April 2018. It's shaping up to be a super debut especially if it hits the $300M opening weekend domestic that some are predicting. If any movie has the potential to hit that milestone opening weekend, Endgame is the best bet at the moment. We're still sticking with our prediction for the most part but we expect higher, I'm going to be optimistic and say this film has a 50% chance of hitting $300M. I wouldn't be surprised if it gets to that number but we really are just lowbailing it right now. It looks like it's going to have a solid chance at surpassing Infinity War records pretty much everywhere at the moment and with the good word of mouth, who knows how huge this will get. As of now the film has a perfect 96% "Certified Fresh" rating on Rotten Tomatoes so with that, look for massive records to be broken this weekend.
