We're less than 2 weeks away from the highly anticipated release of Avengers: Endgame and the hype is pretty much we expected it to be. With the two trailers released ranking as the top most viewed trailers within 24 hours, it's very safe to assume that Endgame will likely see a similar gangbusters opening that Infinity War did last year. We actually did an entire video which we will link down below focusing primary on Endgame's box office and the potential numbers we could see it making opening weekend but we will list our early predictions here anyway for the purpose of the article. Anyway here are our predictions. Remember to make sure to check out our Avengers video at the bottom of the article.
Opening Weekend ($250M-$260M)
Opening weekend is no doubt going to be absolutely huge, some sites are saying it could even break $300M OW which would be insane. We're sticking with a more conservative prediction. The lowest we see it opening too is $250M and the highest being $260M. Wouldn't be surprised if this manages to open higher though, highest we could see it getting is $270M-$280M. Will still be huge regardless.We're also expecting a worldwide opening somewhere in the $800M-$900M range. A billion opening weekend seems possible as well but I'm not brave enough to include that in our range of predictions.
Domestic Prediction ($660M-$710M)
Domestic we see this finishing somewhere between $660M-$710M although again it could go way higher. We're expecting legs similar to Infinity War. The highest I could see this making domestically would maybe be in the $720M range but for now I'm going to stick with our ceiling prediction (The highest we see this making) of $710M.
Worldwide Prediction ($1.9B-$2.0B)
Now many (if anyone reads this) will probably think this prediction is pretty low. The lowest we see this making is $1.9B while the highest we see this making is $2.0B (Somewhere between Infinity War and The Force Awakens WW total). The chances of this making $2.1B or even $2.2B are very likely but again we want to play "safe" with our prediction. Some people are claiming this could potentially beat Avatar (Which made an insane $2.7B worldwide back in 2009/2010) but this movie would probably need insane legs to do so. Anything is possible but we could see this finishing slightly above Infinity War worldwide and might have a chance to challenge Titanic's $2.1B. It's a possibility we won't rule out because this movie has enough hype to possibly generate that huge amount of money.
Final Thoughts
Keep in mind that these predictions we actually made all the way back in January but we're still deciding to stick with our early predictions, although I think our worldwide prediction is still slightly low. I could see it having the potential to make between $2.04B-$2.2B depending on the hype and the type of legs it has. I could also see it having a higher opening weekend based on how much money the movie has probably made on pre-sales alone. I could see it possibly getting as high as $280M opening weekend and while the chance of $300M is very possible at this point, we want to keep our predictions on the "safe side". I honestly feel like our predictions while still are high, seem to be low lol. We shall see where our predictions land next weekend! Either way this movie is going to be a box office monster, the fact people are selling tickets for over $15,000 due to sold out screenings shows how high this movie is in demand.
