It's official, Lady Gaga and Bradley Copper's Shallow has hit #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 following the song's win at the 2019 Oscars (Earning best original song). The track featured on the soundtrack for the motion picture, A Star Is Born, leaps from #21 to #1 this week with over 115K downloads sold and 27.3M streams within the past tracking week.
The song previously hit the Top 5 back in October following the film's release, spending about 2 weeks in the Top 10 at that time. With the song leaping back into the Top 10 this week, this marks it's 3rd non-consecutive week in the Top 10. The song began to ascend back up the charts following the awards season including the Golden Globes earlier last month. It's sense had long longevity on various charts, increasing on streaming and sales platforms.
Shallow becomes Lady Gaga's 4th #1 single on the Hot 100 following Just Dance, Poker Face, and Born This Way. The last time Lady Gaga was #1 was 8 years ago, back in 2011 when she debuted on the top with Born This Way. Bradley Copper achieves his first ever Billboard Hot 100 #1 single as well. Plot twist of the year? The two also top the Billboard 200 with the film's soundtrack.
Outside of the US market, Shallow continues to dominate oversees having topped the charts in Switzerland, Australia, Sweden, Norway, New Zealand, and the UK either currently or back in the fall when the album was released.
